Waldwick High School Language Arts Teacher 

Waldwick High School will be participating in the second annual Digital Learning Day hosted by the Alliance for Excellent Education on Wednesday, February 6, 2013.  According to the New Jersey Department of Education, this day provides an opportunity to highlight the great lessons and activities teachers, librarians, principals, and district leaders are providing for students. 

Since it is the Waldwick High School mission to educate and guide students to achieve their fullest potential, become lifelong learners, and be responsible, productive citizens in a global society, Digital Learning Day is the perfect opportunity for staff members to showcase the types of innovative activities they are using in their classrooms every day.

Last year, Waldwick High School’s participation in the event was extremely successful.  Digital projects ranged from AP Economics students participating in a collaborative inter-school blog to students working out using Nintendo Wii programs in physical education classes.  Prior to participation, staff members wrote summaries of the projects they had planned and posted them on a Google Document which was shared online.  To see this document, please visit Waldwick HS 2012 Digital Learning Day

This year, participation in Digital Learning Day is highly anticipated by Waldwick High School’s staff and administration.  Teachers are encouraged to begin thinking about digital projects and activities that can be incorporated into their lesson and unit plans on February 6^th. 

Collaboration among colleagues as well as across districts becomes more accessible each day due to the district’s dedication to embracing technology in its schools.
